In the studio: R&B with Metallica?

Chris-Isaak-meets-Metallica guitars over my little R&B number? Normally I find it really hard to write guitar parts for my songs, but this one came quickly to me for some reason. Next: add vocals and organ… Possibly some strings too. This song will be called “Just A Show”.

2015 – Thank You!

It’s been a huge year for my music career, and it has only been possible with the love, support, belief, encouragement and advocacy of many people. When you’re a self-managing, independent artist, it’s your friends and fans who make all the magic happen. I’m not able to name names, as I know that there are people out there plugging what I do who I’m not even aware of… but if you were a part of one of these things (see picture below), then I send you my humblest gratitude and appreciation. Thank you for helping me in my mission to spread my inspiring, socially conscious music around the world!!

When I first heard Shameem Taheri-Lee’ story, it sounded like a film script.

SHE’S supported music stars such as Michael Bolton and Anthony Callea, performed for crowds internationally and fronted a five piece band.

Now after the success of a busy year touring, neo-soul songstress Shameem Taheri-Lee is returning to Perth this month to bring the sounds of her latest album to the Ellington Jazz Club.

The Victoria Park resident’s sophomore album The Second City boasts 15 tracks with lyrics touching on thought-provoking themes, including prejudice, broken trust and gratitude in the face of difficulties.

“Music is a very powerful medium which can be used to communicate positive ideas and messages,” Taheri-Lee said.
