Featured Birthmarks of July

Here are the birthmarks which I featured on my Birthmark of the Week segment this last month. You can follow Birthmark of the Week on my Facebook PageTwitter and Pinterest (#weeklybirthmark on Twitter).

This birthmark belongs to another fantastic Perth-based vocalist and a friend of mine: Juliana Areias – Brazilian Singer. She has an awesome dark red mark on her neck… a port wine stain, methinks? Maybe having a birthmark improves ones singing…

This is Makk, of Radio Fremantle and TuneSmiths Cafe Writers, who’s a great advocate of Perth music. That little grey patch of hair has always been there!

Featured Birthmarks of May

So I’ve just recently started a new weekly feature on my Facebook Page, Twitter and Pinterest called the Birthmark Of The Week (#weeklybirthmark on Twitter). Every week I feature a different birthmark or beauty spot! I’ll be posting these once a month to this blog, and here are the birthmarks I featured during the month of May.

This is my own stork bite birthmark, which covers some of my eye lid and extends up into my hair.

Live in Canada: my latest composition

Here’s a bootleg recording from a show at Gate 403 in Toronto during my North American Tour – this song is my latest composition, entitled “Give Me A Reason.” It’s about the inner conflict of wanting to forgive someone who refuses to apologise for doing a terrible thing. The recording starts just after the first verse.

Tonee and I

Flight from Perth to Sydney: 4 hours. Sydney to LA: 14 hours. LA to Atlanta: 4 hours.

In Atlanta airport there is a baby grand piano in the food court of one of the terminals. The man at the piano is Tonee, who tinkles the ivories and croons the best of pop, soul and jazz tunes to the diverse people who pass through the food court. As I sat enjoying a smoothie, Tonee noticed me lip-syncing along to his music, and called me up to perform in his place. The crowd at Atlanta airport showed their appreciation of my covers of Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson with warm-hearted applause – it was a good start to the trip!
