Diary of a roadie

My lovely husband Kia came along on my recent solo tour; it’s the first time he’s come on the road with me touring. He decided to take a selfie every day with me in the background… This is the tour from his point of view.

In October Shameem is hitting the road again, this time without her band, performing intimate solo shows and accompanying herself on the keyboard. She will be travelling up Australia’s east coast, doing 9 shows in 8 cities in 11 days. Tour dates and details are on Shameem’s gig page.

Live performance on Pirate 88 Radio

Last week I did an interview and live performance on Pirate 88 Radio, to plug our upcoming show at the Hidden Treasures winter concert series in Fremantle. It was a super fun interview, talking a bit about where I’m at with my music now, having just released an album and toured nationally and done shows in Canada… and there’s live solo performances of “Beautiful Soul” and “Give Me A Reason” in amongst the chatting. Video highlights are above and the full audio is below. (click on the title of this post if you can’t see the video window above)

Live review by The First Fat Girl in Paris

Very stoked about this glowing review of recent my solo performance at Song Lounge from Perth blogger Kate Juliana on her blog The First Fat Girl in Paris. I’m especially chuffed by her comments, as she’s a (former) classically trained orchestral bassoonist! “It has taken me over twelve hours to recover from the ‘WOW’ of Shameem’s performance last night at the Ellington. This is why.”
