The lyrics for “Other Half of My Heart” are here.
If you look at the lyrics for this song, it’s pretty obvious that it’s a love song. You can interpret it any way you like, and make it about anyone that you want. But if you’d like to know who I wrote it about, well then, it’s about my sister Naseem.

Naseem and I are very different for two girls who grew up in the same family and are only two years apart in age. We’ve always had very different personalities, interests, fashion sense, and the list goes on. But one thing that is the same about both of us is the things that we’ve been through together. And we’ve been through a lot together, from our parents’ very turbulent divorce when we were quite young, to more recently shouldering the responsibility for the care of our mother who suffers from Parkinson’s disease. If there’s one person in the world who can read my mind and know what I’m feeling without me saying a thing, it’s Naseem.
You may have a special someone in your life who you feel this special kind of close connection and unconditional love for; someone who knows you incredibly well and understands you deeply. I hope you think of them and have warm feelings when you hear this song.
